Your App Lady

Show Notes

Series 1 Episode 25

Welcome to series 1 episode 25 of the Your App Lady Podcast!

All about apps and tech that I love and use every day.

On each episode, I’ll talk about recent tech news, recommend apps that I use myself and leave you with a great tech tip.

Tech News

An article on the Forbes website said that there is a report that Apple is planning to release a new, less expensive MacBook Air. They anticipate that it will be released in the second quarter of 2018. Not very many details were reported. Hopefully this new MacBook will be under $1000 and allow more people interested in switching from a PC to a Mac to be able to afford the new MacBook Pro.

Featured App: Marble Math and Marble Math Jr. by Artgig Studios

Available for iOS, Android, Kindle Fire

Marble Math suitable for 9-12 year olds.

Using Marble Math, your child can practice basic math skills on a phone or tablet by rolling or dragging a virtual marble through a series of mazes to solve the math problems.

Marble Math is a fun, engaging way to practice math concepts. It is much more fun than a worksheet!

Artgig Studios also has Marble Math Jr for ages 5-8. It is also an engaging app that helps early elementary students  practice mental math.

Marble Math Multiplication is similar and targets only multiplication problems.

Tech Tip

Alexa frequently talks back to us when we weren’t talking to her! To avoid this you can turn off the microphone on your Echo by tapping the microphone button found on the top of your Echo. This will also give some piece of mind for people who are concerned about safety and privacy.
